MediaTek unveils more powerful Dimension 9000 Plus processor

Last year, Taiwanese chipset maker MediaTek unveiled its next-generation MediaTek Dimensity 9000 flagship processor, the world's first 4nm-manufactured chipset. The chip is naturally capable of delivering the highest quality performance. This time, the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processor was launched as an upgraded version of the MediaTek Dimensity 9000. This new smartphone chip is the same as the Dimensity 9000, but it will also have some notable improvements. As the company claims, it will support full HD+ resolution screen refresh rates up to 160 Hz, and its GPU will be around 10% faster than before. Let's learn more about the upgrade features of the new Dimensity 9000+

MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ Details

The MediaTek Dimension 9000 Plus processor will support WQHD+ resolution refresh rates up to 144 Hz and Full HD+ display refresh rates up to 180 Hz. The company claims that the MediaTek Dimension 9000 Plus will have around 5% higher CPU and around 10% higher GPU. It integrates ARM's V9 CPU architecture and 4nm process.

Likewise, the Dimension 9000 Plus features one Ultra-Cortex-X2 core running at 3.2 GHz, three Super Cortex-610 cores, and four functional Cortex-510 cores. For graphics, it has a built-in ARM Mali-G610 Mac10 GPU. This octa-core chip is equipped with an advanced Image Signal Processor (ISP). It features an Imagiq 790 ISP that offers 16-bit HDR video recording from three cameras and a 320-megapixel sensor for 4K HDR and AI sound cancellation.

Additionally, the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ network modem has been updated and now supports up to 8 Gbps downlinks. It supports 5G/4G Dual SIM Dual Active, enabling users to use two networks simultaneously. It also includes Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 8E and the latest GNSS standards.

Note that the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ will be available in the third quarter of this year. But so far, the company has not said that the first devices to use the new processor will be the company's smartphones.
